THE IDEA AND INSPIRATION

Exploring ghost towns, especially after visiting some in Nevada and Arizona myself, have made me more curious about what there is to offer from these places from the past and present. Through a 3D visual demonstration using the StylyCC program, the landscape for a small ghost town set on the backdrop of a western skyline creates an explorative narrative based on personal accounts. With textual and audio narratives, the user can follow the path to observe what defines the culture that vastly sets apart these towns from others.

Works like these also act as a method of preservation. Through this experience and others shown here, the historically and cultural aspects of ghost towns can be referenced for future generations if and/or when these locations disappear from reality.
